Seri Kembangan was established as the Serdang New Village in 1950 when the British moved Malaysian Chinese villagers living around Sungai Besi to a centralised location due to the Communist threat during the Malayan Emergency as part of the Briggs Plan. It is the second largest Chinese New Village in Malaysia.

The display antiques in the gallery were donated by the local community. Every display in the gallery is telling the local Chinese’s culture and lifestyle in the past. Music instruments, praying culture, food, cooking method, working tools and living pattern were displayed to tell the fascinating story in the past!
